The temperature must be 18-20C to ensure the best germination. Sow the seeds on their sides 2.5cm deep in small pots in peat-free compost. Plant 50cm apart. To avoid frosts, it can be grown undercover or outside from late May. Grow them up a string or support them with bamboo.

One of our favourite cucumbers to eat raw as a snack or cut up as a side dish for barbecue gatherings. Definitely a crowd-pleaser as it is not bitter. Delicious with mint and dill. It can also be grated and used in a raita and tzatziki sauce.
