  • To ensure the best germination, the temperature must be at least 20°C. Sow seeds point-side down, 1.5 cm deep, in small pots with peat-free compost. Plant outdoors 90 cm apart from late May, once frosts have passed.

Sow indoors: April to early June

Plant out: Late May to July

    Harvesting time: September to October

  • This is the queen of winter squashes. Well-known chefs worldwide celebrate it on their menus during the winter months by placing it in the centre of a dish. It is also delicious in pickles, soups, curries, stews, and salads.

We love it roasted in wedges with chilli flakes, lemon, garlic and sage butter crust and served with fresh Buffalo ricotta.
