Made from filtered water and some form of sugar, water kefir grains consume the sugar during fermentation, converting it into healthy probiotics. Water kefir grains, also known as tibicos, Japanese water crystals, or California bees, go by many names worldwide. Regardless of the name, making water kefir remains the same, offering a nutritious and delicious alternative to sugary sodas and energy drinks. At Fat Tomato, we use filtered well water (not treated municipal water, usually full of chemicals to keep it clean) and organic raw cane sugar to ensure the purest, healthiest drink possible.

At Fat Tomato, we love to infuse our water kefir with floral, citrusy, or tart flavours, crafting a refreshing drink that is perfect for any time of day. It is a sustainable way to upcycle fruit peelings and other kitchen scraps, turning what would otherwise go to waste into flavourful, eco-friendly beverages.

Please note: Water kefir naturally fizzes during its second fermentation, so we do not filter or pasteurise it. You may notice tiny bits of goodness at the bottom of the bottle—this is part of the natural fermentation process.
