Open-pollinated chemical-free seeds. Grown and saved in Wexford, Ireland.

  • Soak the seeds in water overnight to ensure the best germination. Place 2 to 3 seeds in modular trays with seed peat-free compost. Water lightly and leave indoors until the baby spears are approx. 10cm tall. Plant outdoors in a well-drained site, 8cm apart.

    Sow indoors: March to April

    Plant outdoors: June to July

    Harvesting time: April to June from the third year onwards.

  • Who doesn’t love asparagus? Every year, we cannot wait for the season to kick in, which lasts about eight weeks here in Ireland. One of our favourite snacks while working in the garden is asparagus. If it reaches the kitchen, we love it with poached eggs or some spring lamb or in a soup, frittata, or risotto.
