To ensure the best germination, the temperature must be 18-20C. Sow the seed point-side down 1cm deep in small pots in peat-free compost. Plant 90cm apart. Can be grown in a polytunnel or outside from late May to avoid frosts.

One of our favourite courgettes to grow. Its flavour works well with different spices, herbs, and vegetables. When young, it is delicious, raw or cooked. We love it in salads, cakes, fritters, and fried on its own or in a tempura batter.
When grown as a marrow, we make soups, stews, and chutneys or stuff it with a spicy lentil, spinach, and tomato sauce.
